SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA (May 29, 2020) – The MEALIVE 2019 Awards were held at the ICC Sydney Studios and broadcasted live via a live web stream across Australia and the globe. The awards spanned four broad categories – Events of the Year, Company, Individual, and Outstanding Contribution Award, including three industry awards – Education & Training, Event Legacy, and Innovation.
The Individual Outstanding Contribution award recognizes significant contribution to the meetings and events industry in Australia, is an inspiring leader, and has demonstrated excellence in their field. The recipient of this year’s award was Trevor Gardiner, CEO of Centium Software (EventsAir).
Kelly Maynard, Head of Distribution Development and Partnerships, Business Events at Tourism Australia, announced the award. She highlighted Trevor’s many achievements over a 30-year plus career. As a pioneer in the event technology industry, Trevor has been at the forefront of innovation; delivering successful events around the world and putting Australia on the map as leader in the event technology industry.
A recent example of this innovation has been the production of the OnAIR solution that allows event organizers to run virtual and hybrid events and meetings during the current restrictions on mass gatherings.
Trevor’s involvement in event technology goes beyond national, having worked on global events like CHOGM, APEC, G20, The Olympics, Commonwealth Games and Rugby World Cup, to name a few.
Giving back and supporting the events industry has been Trevor’s passion. Programs like Rising Star enables tens and thousands of inspiring event undergraduates to access the EventsAir event management platform, helping them be job ready.
Recently winning the internationally acclaimed Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) CODiE award for best Event Technology Solution on May 18, 2020, EventsAir by Centium Software is as a true global leader.
Trevor is very humbled and thankful for what the events industry has given to him over the years. He is very appreciative of his family and work team members, some of whom have been with his company for over 25 years.
