Auto Check-in allows for attendees to arrive at a registration area and either scan a QR Code you have posted on a sign, or have their mobile phone read by a beacon strategically placed in the area.
The EventsAIR Attendee App enables attendees to scan QR codes, OR, if they have blue-tooth enabled on their phone, then beacons can be used to read their App on arrival.
Once the QR code has been scanned, or the beacon reads the phone, the attendee receives an Auto Check-In Message and their badge is printed automatically. You can customize the Auto Check-in Message which is sent to their phone and the message can be specific for different registration types.
Beacons are small devices that are battery powered and are used to transmit a Bluetooth signal to nearby smart phones and tablets. EventsAIR uses beacons in several areas, including EventStream Engage Goals (such as Location Check-In) and in the Auto Event Check-In process.
For example, with Auto Event Check-In, you would place one or more beacons in the registration area of your event. When an attendee walks in, they can simply open, from their Attendee App, Auto Event Check-In. The beacon will read their presence, and once they click on the beacon check-in button, will automatically send their details to have their badge printed and to be checked into the event.
The beacon then sends an update message to the phone advising the attendee where they can pick up their name badge.
You can purchase your own beacons to use with EventsAIR or purchase your pre-programmed beacons directly from the EventsAIR team. If you purchase EventsAIR beacons, all programming is set and you are ready to start using them immediately.
If you purchase your own beacons, they must support iBeacon and Eddystone protocols, be compatible with iOS 7.0+/Android 4.4+ and include an App that allows you to configure them.
